A big apology ...............

Lori and Donna were my February and March partners, and they both very generously made both of my block options.
I've been distracted with knee replacement surgery and shuffled my blocks and envelopes - I am so sorry, but I can't put the correct names with these beautiful blocks. The blocks are photographed in pairs but at the moment I'm not sure the combinations are correct - sorry ladies!

The fabrics, colours and stitching are just beautiful.
Thank you so much, Jan.

2014 Challenge

Sue set a challenge in January to make something with blocks received in a swap from QBSA. Well it's taken a while from collecting the blocks to deciding what to do with them.... but a decision was made....

Then the next challenge was how to put them together ... so after many hours of deliberation (with input from each family member)..... I finally made my mind up.....

I made a wall hanging for our bedroom (just need DH to put some hooks up for me and then I can take a proper photo), 4 blankets of love for Cheryll (I sent these in February) and a table runner for our dining table.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these (sorry I really can't remember who they are all from but I received them in 2012 and 2013).

I'm going to make some more blankets of love in "boy" colours and then to start on the 2014 Challenge over at Christmas Quilting block swap Australia...

Finished Star quilt

Finally I have a finish on my star quilt; it's about 68x84", give or take. I collected blocks from both the 12" and the 6" groups as well as from a friend outside the group. A big thank you to everyone who contributed. Sorry for the wonky picture but I'm limited for space here and the weather is too messy to take it outside just now.  I'm really happy with how it turned out and it's already gone to it's new home with my son.

March

Leaving our cold winter temps with lots of snow, ice and chilly winds to go and join the block collection of Liz S, where it will enjoy the end of a hot summer in a beautiful valley in Australia!
I do hope it will fit in and be right at home with her collection of autumn colors of different blocks...
log cabins seem to fit in with any quilt! Smile
Hope you like it Liz S.

Blessings~

A lil-add on:
Just after I posted this our mail came and look what I got ...
Yes, from Liz S to me!
Two beautiful blocks. Smile
She added a note saying she wasn't pleased with one of them so, decided on making another!
Am I blessed
They are "both" lovely and well sewn!
Thank you Liz

Another block received

I have been involved with Quilt Block Swap Australia since August 2013. I have just received my tenth 12" block. It was from Beth who lives in Queensland.

I asked for any star in country colours. It isn't as pink as in this photo.

I nearly have enough to put a quilt top together. I'm aiming for 12 blocks.

My happy mail collection

I was very happy today after collecting my mail & I saw there was a parcel from Tasmania.
The end of my holiday last week I was in Tasmania, Hobart, for a day.
My swap partner, Irene, lives there.
She has ended up making me 2 blocks. Lucky me.
This 1st block has some great fabrics.
The 2nd was a new block Irene tried.
Well done Irene & thank you.

It's absolutely lovely & the sewing is so well done and perfect size!
Thank you so very much Brenda I enjoyed swapping with you!
Smile
The block is black & white
we were working on a Valentine's

The colors showed up so bright!
