Dutchmans puzzle

This is the name if the block that I chose to make for Melanie my October partner. Melanie's request was any block in any colours except lime, aqua or orange, so I went safe with pink and red.

My September swap partner Kerry very kindly sent me three churn dash blocks as they are going to be part of a masculine quilt for my local aged care facility.  This is my first month with the group and its a thrill to receive packages in the mail!!!

My awesome block has arrived

Robin and I were partners once again in August. It was funny how we were partners August 2012 too.
This is what she made for me....

Sept block for Carolyn in Iowa

Carolyn in Iowa was my September partner. She said "any block".
This is what I came up with.  First time I had done this one too.

July, August and Sept... wow

Last year I swapped with Petah in Qld. I made a bright log cabin....
....Sept 13 I am again paired with Petah. I don't normally post before the person has got the block so sorry Petah but I wanted to show the comparison. Both have butterflies somewhere in the block as a tribute to my son.
ChristieLeigh sent me this beautiful bright block and some gorgeous fabric........
... and this is the block I sent to ChristieLeigh, such a fun block to make so I have this in my bank of patterns
Julianne sent me this lovely block for July, so I am now up to date with all my swaps. Julianne's block that I sent was the lonestar pieced block which she posted about ages ago. Lovely swapping with all of you.

September blocks

My partner Karen asked for either an Ohio star in purples, or cracker in brights so I made both. I have never done the cracker block before, and my seams don't meet perfectly, but as its a second block I will still send it to Karen.
