HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I have just completed sending out 47 block swap partners, as we welcome Jane from Albany Creek in Queensland as our 47th member.  As far as I know everyone is participating this month, I certainly have not heard otherwise.

I have decided to cap the member numbers at 50 for the time being, so if you are reading this and thinking of joining you better get in touch with me soon.  Then I will have a short list of people on standby for when members want to take a break or leave and fill the gaps from there.

On another note, I am starting to keep track of everyones blogs on the data base spreadsheet over the coming months,  I do follow most of yours on the blog and will add them as I have time.  If you have a blog and its not on the emails please let me know and I will add it for you.

Have a happy and safe New year and I hope your resolutions are met.

Terri from Brisbane, Australia
A big quilted hugs to you all, and welcome to our friendly quilting community.

Better Late than Never

I made this block for Marie. She had requested a particular Carol Doak paper pieced block. I twisted, fiddled and turned and found this star had formed in the centre. I don't think that was the orginal intention of this pattern but that's how I sewed it for Marie. I'm sorry I'm so late in posting this November block but I had a death in the family. Marie, I hope you like what I did.

December Block Arrived

I was pleased to receive this lovely block from Sylvia today. Thanks heaps Sylvia!

This is the seventh block so far.
They are starting to look interesting now when I arrange them on the floor.
Will need to keep swapping a little longer before I can put them all together
to make a quilt.

Fiona's block(s) from Rosemary

I have just started swapping blocks and Rosemary has done my first block for my Eye Spy quilt.....
it is a Wonky Square.....

I love how there are several of the Australian animals in it.

~ Thanks so much Rosemary - I love it ~

I had originally asked for disappearing Nine-Patch and Rosemary did make one for me, I agree with her that Eye Spy does not really lend itself best to the disappearing Nine-patch... but she sent the block she has made and I do like it.... and will use it on something else.... a mug rug maybe?

I haven't seen these fabrics and they are so lovely.... makes me want to go out shopping!!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas

Rosemarys Blocks

Rosemary has asked me to pop these pics on the blog for her.

The first one is the card trick block that she has made for Leena

Next is the block Leena has made for her a striking Hexagon version of the Log Cabin

Rosemary was also lucky to receive this bonus Christmas block from Leena

Apology from Linden

Dear Friends,

I am aware that I still owe some folk a block from October. Please accept my profuse apologies if you are still waiting for a block from me. Life has been quite tricky of late with going back to work, and my son getting every bug that has floated through the childcare centre, so I have done no quilting at all for three months. I am going to get them done and sent this weekend once and for all!

I also received a couple of blocks at the same time in September/October but unfortunately the letters that came with them have been misplaced. If you have sent me a block that I haven’t acknowledged, would you mind please emailing me a photo so I can match the block to the quilter?

Thank you so much; have a wonderful Christmas!

I've GoNe DoTtY

Our new member Teresa who is all the way in Portugal, will be receiving this block from me for our December swap. I used "Essential Dots" by Moda in the colours of her choice. I hope she likes it as I had the honour of being her first swap partner.
Merry Christmas Teresa... the block is on it's way to you!

You didn't think I was actually going to show the WhOLe block..
did you?
No ... Teresa gets to see it first!

Welcome another Canadian

A big sunny Aussie welcome to Sylvia from Calgary in Canada.  I imagine its quite chilly in Canada at this time of the year.
Sylvia is a new quilter, only been doing this for 12 months - but looking at her blog she is certainly doing great guns.

Beth is kindly doing Sylvias first swap with the group this month.
